i2 Scan is a professional batch scanning application for medium to large organisations who need to scan, index and store documents quickly and easily.

Whether you're in banking, transport, insurance or government, you probably still rely on paper documents as one of the main sources of business information. Like all these organisations, you have one major business expense you could do without: getting the data off the paper and into your computer systems. i2 Scan does this with speed and ease.

i2 Scan gives you the ability to profile large quantities of documents in an easy to use manner. 

The application has been specifically designed to be easy to deploy and use across virtually any document scanner or multi function device.

i2 impressive list of features include:

• Job set up based on document settings and business rules
• Job setup includes the ability to create fields on multiple pages of a document i.e. not just the first page
  
• Watch folders to import PDF, TIF and numerous other image formats directly into i2 (excellent for Multifunction devices)
• Includes job separator sheets for automatically segmenting out documents
• Zonal OCR to read fixed, defined areas on documents
• Key from image supported (the defined area will be zoomed in when processing)
• Lasso OCR tool to drag over a machine print area to populate an index field
• Pre index option to enter text that is common to all documents in a batch
• Create field pull down lists for fixed index value selection
• Barcode tool to drag over and read a barcode to populate an index field
• Use a common OCR zone on documents to detect document separation
  
• Optional use of Barcode as a page separator (requires additional barcode module)
• Batch processing allows scanning, profiling and exporting of indexed documents at different times
• Import a CSV file as part of the indexing process for example part numbers, client codes etc
• Text file export of index data and image paths in either CSV or XML formats
• Stop and start working withing Batches at any time and i2 will resume where you left off
  
• Output file formats include TIF, PDF, PDF/Web, PDF/A and text searchable PDF
• Meta data is embedded automatically into PDF documents to allow for content searching
• Optional index exporting to any ODBC compliant database
• Automatically highlight and zoom to a searched text string using i2 Smart Seek
• Export in the background automatically using processor idle time. No need to sit and wait while exporting large batches of documents
• OCR both Color and Black and White documents
